Crafting a custom website for a San Diego artist, author, and professor.
The Challenge:
Create a beautiful custom website for Heather Sweeney, a San Diego-based artist, author, and professor. Heather was looking for a new way to feature her original works of art and books, as well as a place to share her thoughts and host writing retreats.
Heather C. Sweeney, is a writer and artist living in San Diego. She teaches at San Diego State University in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts and the Honors College. In 2016, she earned an M.F.A. from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics where she was the Allen Ginsberg Fellow.
She had two full-length poetry collections published in 2020 and she is currently delving into fiction and working on a novel.
Her artwork has been commissioned by private clients across the country and has been featured in several publications including The Art Insider, Muzique Magazine, and Authority Magazine. www.heathercsweeney.com
Our Approach
We created a mobile-friendly responsive design using Squarespace. The color pallet utilizes modern beachy pastels and classic black and white to highlight Heather’s creativity without distraction. We built several portfolio collections to highlight publications, art, and books as well as a blog. Heather launched a new series of writing experiences and we provided the platform for booking and information.
